Hello! And welcome to my little speck of space on the web. My name is Sarah A. Phillips, and I’m an author of children’s books. I write picture books on up to middle grade (although, I do have a cool Young Adult novel swirling around in my head … so this could change!).
My books are all aimed at helping children to understand the world around them. You can find them on the books page. I will also blog about things from time-to-time, mostly tips and fun facts, some writing craft information, and new releases when they become available.
My books are published by Blanket Books, the children’s book imprint of Haven Stone Media. I have been a full member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) since 2009 and actively participate in two chapter groups in Illinois. I also attend writing conferences and workshops regularly to learn more about my craft. I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in journalism and have been a writer throughout my career.
I live in Illinois with my family. We have an old-lady doggo who sometimes “assists” me when I write. I enjoy walking on the nearby prairie, gardening, baking, biking, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and most of all, reading!
